Product Description

Sr-90 sources emit beta radiation and are used in a variety of instrumentation and gauging applications primarily in thickness and density measurement of web by measuring the level of transmission of the radiation through the material.

We can supply a variety of standard designs and activities. Strontium Carbonate is incorporated into matrices made from ceramic or glass which are cast into metal inserts to ensure consistent shape and position. The inner assembly is encapsulated into stainless steel components sealed by autogenous TIG welding.

Sources comply with the requirements of ISO2919 and have Special Form certification to IAEA SSR-6 unless stated otherwise.
The sources have a recommended service life of 5 years. The radioactive content and radiation output measurements stated in the product certification are traceable to national standards.

Bespoke source designs can be developed to customer specified requirements.

Product will be shipped in Type -A or Type -B(U) packaging depending upon quantity and destination
