Product Description

Kr-85 sources emit beta radiation and are used in a variety of instrumentation and gauging applications primarily in thickness and density measurement of web by measuring the level of transmission of the radiation through the material.

The standard RAIMS product is a titanium capsule internally pressurised with Kr-85 gas and sealed by LASER welding. The transmission window is 0.025mm thick to maximise radiation output. The capsule is provided with a protective stainless steel cover to prevent accidental exposure to the radiation and protect the window in transit and handling.

Sources comply with the requirements of ISO2919. Kr-85 sealed sources do not require IAEA Special Form for transport.

The sources have a recommended service life of 10 years. The radioactive content and radiation output measurements stated in the product certification are traceable to national standards.

Bespoke source designs can be developed to customer specified requirements.

Product is shipped in Type -A packaging.
